Level 1 Freedive Certification Required
All split freedive spearfishing charters require a minimum of a Level 1 Freedive certification. There are no exceptions. For insurance and safety reasons, all divers must provide proof of a recognized Level 1 Freediver Certification before participating in any Split Charter.

LEVEL 3 FREEDIVE +BLUEWATER SPEARFISHING™ COURSE
Training focused on maximum depth, elite breath-hold capacity, and precision diving techniques. Refine advanced equalization methods, master dive planning and safety protocols, and develop high-level hunting strategies for experienced divers pushing their limits. As a Level 3 Freediver (PADI Master Freediver), you step out of the role of a consumer diver and transition into a true dive professional.

IMPORTANT COURSE LOCATION & OPEN-WATER TRAINING INFORMATION
When booking a SAVAGE DIVING freediving course, the host location (St. Augustine, Hudson/Weeki Wachee, etc.) does not necessarily mean every portion of the course will take place in that exact location.
Freediving certification requires access to specific depths for open-water training and performance requirements. Unlike scuba training, we can’t simply move the open-water portion to any nearby body of water—we need safe conditions and adequate depth for the level being taught.
Being based in North Florida gives us a huge advantage. When offshore weather and sea conditions prevent us from safely accessing depth by boat, we can often move training to one of Florida’s freshwater springs. However, only a limited number of springs provide enough depth for our certification requirements, particularly for Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
Spring conditions can also change. Heavy rainfall and other environmental factors can cause springs to become “browned out,” reducing visibility and occasionally resulting in swimming or diving closures.
Because of this, your open-water training location may change based on weather, offshore conditions, spring conditions, visibility, access, and the depth requirements of your course. This may require driving to a training location outside the city where your course begins.
Our goal is always to provide the safest conditions possible while giving every student the best opportunity to successfully complete their course requirements. Please plan for some flexibility with open-water locations when booking a freediving course.

The instructor is a local Bahamian, and we work exclusively with local Bahamian rental car companies, locally owned Airbnbs, Bahamian Chiefs. For the fishing charters we only use Bahamian vessels and Bahamian captains (Class B License).
